DANGERS OF ASBESTOSIS EXPOSURE

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer most commonly contracted as a result of inhaling asbestosis. The lawyers at Jim S. Hall & Associates have handled many claims for individuals and their families with mesothelioma or, a more common illness, asbestosis. One such case was for a family whose father and husband had passed away as result of mesothelioma. His family referred to the decedent as “the snowman” because when he came home from work his clothing would be covered with white particles. Little did they know at the time that those white particles were asbestosis and not only was their father and husband being exposed but they too were being exposed to this dangerous substance. It is not uncommon that someone who washed the clothing of an individual exposed to asbestosis may also contract the disease themselves.

Mesothelioma is a horrible disease in which malignant cells develop in the protective lining that cover most of the bodies internal organs. The most common areas are in the lungs and around the heart.

In the case of “the snowman” the lawyers at Jim S. Hall & Associates where able to successfully prosecute the claim against the asbestosis companies because the asbestosis companies knew about the associated health risks of asbestosis since 1920 and chose not to disclose that to anyone.

If you or anyone you know has been exposed to asbestosis you should be tested immediately and contact the lawyers at Jim S. Hall & Associates at 504-832-3000.
