Jim S. Hall &
Associates is lead counsel in a Class Action filed by members of the New
Orleans Police Department. The Class
Action alleges that officers of the New Orleans Police Department, as early as
2009, were denied proper pay for the hours they were on duty performing
activities required by their job. It is
alleged that these officers were denied overtime pay or denied compensatory
time off and that these denials constituted a violation of the Fair Labor
Standards Act. The Class Action seeks
compensation for class members reimbursing them for the overtime for which they
were never compensated together with attorney fees, cost and expenses. The matter is set for trial in the spring of
2016 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana
in New Orleans.
Notices to members of the New
Orleans Police Department have been both
mailed and e-mailed and there is a September 11, 2015 deadline for these
officers to opt into the Class Action lawsuit.
